An Vrombaut is a favorite author of mine. An created the hit TV show, 64 Zoo Lane which is seen on Nickelodeon's Noggin, Playhouse Disney and in other countries too. It is about a girl named Lucy, who lives next door to a Zoo. Every night, she climbs out of her window, slides down the long neck of Georgina the Giraffe and listens to one of the animals tell her a wonderful bedtime story. My favorite story, which is also a book, is Henrietta the Hairy Hippo. An has written 15 other children's books and they are all fun to read. |

Henrietta the Hairy Hippo
Henrietta the Hippo lives in the Zambia River where all of the hippos swim and play. Henrietta is unusual because she is hairy and all of the other hippos tease her saying, "Henrietta's hairy! Henrietta's hairy! So she decides to find a new place to live where no one will laugh at her.
An Vrombaut's beautiful illustrations bring this story about acceptance and tolerance to life. Henrietta's adventures lead to a new understanding and Henrietta and her fellow hippos are reunited!
